Moodle 2.0, which is a learning management system, has been released and it contains a lot of large new features, some completely rewritten, and hundreds of bug fixes.

Major new features include:

Community hubs, Repository support, Portfolio support, Course completion and prerequisites, Conditional activities, Cohorts, Web services support, New blocks and Plagiarism prevention

Major improvements to existing core features include:

Backup and restore, Blocks, Blogs, Comments, Enrolment plugins, File handling, Filters 2.0, HTML editor, Messaging, My Moodle page, Navigation, Ratings, Roles and permissions, RSS feeds, Themes, Translation system, User profile pages

Major improvements to activity modules include:

Lesson, Quiz module and question bank, Resource, SCORM, Wiki and Workshop
