Email settings for Iphone
Adding a new email account may appear difficult on the iphone but the software will try to find the correct setting from the server and do it all for you. Things can go wrong so here is an explaination to get your phone going with email from YWS.
Firstly select Settings |
| Next Mail, Contact, Calendars | |
| Add Account (or if you are modifying another account then select that on) | |
| Select Other | |
| Then Add Mail Account | |
| Type in your name as an email address (this is important), email address This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it then password and a description - I usually use my email name. | |
| The IMAP (outgoing) and POP (incoming) have the same settings |
Scrolling down to check these settings.
This should be all you have to do. The iphone will now check with the email server and will return some problems about certificates - this is OK.
If you settings do not get email going then check the next few screens below. |
Checking Incoming Mail Server port works best with SMTP port 143 but you could try POP port 110 |
Checking Outgoing Mail
Some phone companies/ISPs block port 25 so YWS has a second option 587 - you should use this one. |
